Wear the Right Pregnancy Clothes
Pregnancy clothes are a special challenge—they need to be stylish
enough for work and evenings out, but practical
enough for everyday life. The type of fabric
used is critical, since women who are expecting have an increase in both body temperature and skin sensitivity—so a natural fabric that allows the skin to breathe is best. Fit
is also an important consideration—you want pregnancy clothes that are going to fit well at the neckline, shoulders, and sleeves and be roomy where you need it most—at the waist. Last of all is quality and value
—you want clothes that will hold up well with frequent washings, keep their color and shape throughout your pregnancy, and be a good value for the cost.
It is with all of these factors in mind that I designed my line of pregnancy clothes. Each style has been designed based on input from real pregnant women—some expecting singletons and others expecting twins, triplets, or quads. I worked closely with a major US manufacturer to choose the best quality fabric—a buttery-soft blend of Modal (a natural fiber) and Spandex, and to ensure that they were well-constructed. My pregnant moms gave me lots of feedback on fit, color, style, and quality—and I listened. The result are clothes which are comfortable, stylish, easy-care, and beautiful. All of the pieces work well together, so it is simple to put together a whole pregnancy wardrobe with clothes that will last from first trimester through after delivery.
